Silchar, Assam | July 2025: At just 17 years old, Saiyam Mazumder from Assam has become one of the youngest TEDx speakers from Northeast India, taking the stage at TEDx Assam University to represent India on an international platform — not as a performer, but as a voice for wildlife, environment, and the youth.

A wildlife conservationist, standard environmentalist, and the Founder of Green Earth Guardians, Saiyam has transformed years of grassroots work — from rescuing animals to leading youth-driven eco campaigns — into a national movement now being recognized globally. His TEDx talk, built around the theme of resilience and real action, highlighted his personal journey from being mocked in his village to becoming a symbol of youth leadership and environmental action.

Saiyam is also a United Nations Volunteer, actively engaged in sustainable development initiatives across India. His organization, Green Earth Guardians, has inspired thousands of young people across states to join hands for rescue operations, tree plantation drives, plastic-free campaigns, and awareness programs in both urban and rural areas.

In 2024, Saiyam was honored with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar — India’s highest civilian award for children — for his outstanding contributions in wildlife rescue and environmental awareness. He now also leads the Unstoppable 2047 Youth Network, a growing community aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

“I come from a village where I was once laughed at for saving animals,” Saiyam said during his TEDx talk. “Today, I’m proud to say that the same passion has taken me to the TEDx stage and united thousands of youth for nature.”

Saiyam Mazumder’s journey is a living example of how purpose, passion, and persistence can transform criticism into contribution — and how the voice of a 17-year-old from Assam can now echo across international platforms.
